Praying Scripture’s for when you are waiting upon God

Waiting on God.

It doesn’t sound exciting, does it? To begin waiting? To continue waiting? We hate waiting, I really do not like waiting. Waiting in lines. Waiting on children. Waiting on spouses. Waiting on money to come in. Waiting on test results. Waiting on God with an endless list of desires. Waiting.

Usually, we think of waiting as a waste of time, but there are times when I’m excited about the waiting. I’m actually eager for a period of waiting to begin. Eager to wait…almost seems like an oxymoron. During the Advent celebration, I’m eager for the joyful expectancy of the birth of my Savior. I’m eager for a period of reflection, worship and prayer. I’m eager to wait. During the waiting season, I’m eager for a period of reflection and worship, a focus on prayer and quiet. Sometimes a period of waiting is just what my heart needs.

If you are in the wait season these scriptures will help you!

I waited patiently for the Lord. He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of my pit of destruction out of my sticky mud. He stood me on a rock and made my feet steady. He put a new song a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many people will see this and worship him. Then they will trust the Lord. Happy is the person who trusts the Lord, who doesn’t turn to those who proud or those who worship false gods.

Psalm 40: 1-4 New Century Version (NCV).

God made a promise to Abraham. And there is no one greater than God, so he made the promise with an oath in his own name an oath that he would do what he promised. He said,” I will surely bless you. I will give you many descendants”. Abraham waited patiently for this to happen, and later he received what God promised.

Hebrews 6:13-15  Easy to Read Version (ERV).

I  am waiting for you to save me, Lord.

I will obey your commands.

I will obey your rules, and love them very much.

I obey your orders and rules because you know everything I do.

Hear my cry to you Lord Let your word help me understand.

Psalms 119: 166-169. New Century Version (NCV).

With God Everything is Possible

Matthew  19: 26 New Living Translation.

I say this because I know what I am planning for you,” says the Lord. ” I have good plans for you, not plans to hurt you. I will give you hope and a good future.

Then you will call my name. You will come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.

You will search for me. And when you search for me with all your heart, you will find me!

Jeremiah 29: 11-13, New Century Version (NCV).

There is a right time for everything, and everything on earth will happen at the right time.

There is a time to be born and time to die.

There is a time to plant and a time to pull up plants.

There is a time to kill and a time to heal.

There is a time to destroy and a time and a time to build.

There is a time to cry and a time to laugh.

There is a time to be sad and a time to dance with joy.

There is a time to throw weapons down and a time to pick them up.

There is a time to hug someone and a time to hug someone and a time to stop holding tightly.

There is a time to look for something and a time to consider it lost.

There is a time to keep things and time to throw things away.

There is a time to tear cloth and a time to sew it.

There is a time to be silent and a time to speak.

There is a time to love and a time to hate.

There is a time for war and a time for peace.

Ecclesiastes 3- 1-7 Easy to Read Version (ERV).
