Mighty Jehovah, King of kings and Lord of Lords, I bless your name and your word is a lamp to my feet and food which sustains me.
I pray God that this months scripture challenges and supports us not to act in isolation or in secret, in ways which may not be best to us or for us. I pray that we are drawn closer to your coverage and that our hearts are softened into recognising that we cannot walk this journey of life alone thinking that we don’t need your guidance.
Help us to understand that you are covering and shelter shielding us from dangers and help us recognise that through you we can achieve great things help us not be arrogant in believing that we know it all, challenge us and shape us.  Amen.

” Look at them! They try to hide things from the Lord. They think he will not understand. They do their evil things in darkness. They tell themselves: “No one can see us. No one will know who we are”.
You turn things upside down. You think the clay is equal to the potter. You think that something that is made can tell the one who made it, you did not make me!”. This is like a pot telling its maker, “You know nothing”.
Isaiah 29: 15-16. (ERV) Easy to Read Version.

This month I  return back to the old testament to the book of Isaiah, Isaiah is considered the greatest prophet. Prophets were considered as God’s spokes people challenging the people to turn away from wrong doing,( repenting) prophets also challenged the leaders of the day.  Prophet’s went straight to the point telling the community to reconsider their wrong behaviours. Sometimes when you stand up and speak out against wrong doing, you don’t always become popular with the crowd. Credit to Isaiah for taking a stand.
Isaiah provides an explanation as to why the people of Jerusalem were hiding things they were encountering which may have included unemployment, debt, the breakdown in a relationship, death, illness all from God, This explanation was that they thought God would not understand what they were going through or experiencing. This ultimately led them into wrongly looking inwardly into themselves doing things which affected them and also distanced themselves from the one person who could assist and support them God!.
In our lives today those very same challenges we encounter and I would suggest some of us have thought what I have gone or are going through  God won’t understand and we have tried going through it alone. This can then lead us into further trouble and complications. I need to tell you God does understand! He knows everything about us. He created us, he is the potter.
This is a generation which has access to much advancements such as smartphones, social media platforms,  but it is important for us to recognise that whilst these devices do have a place in fast moving society/We must never lose sight of the true creator and stop trying to turn things upside down!
